About FinCalc

Free, transparent financial tools built to help you make informed decisions — not sell you products.

Our Mission

Financial literacy shouldn't require a finance degree. We built FinCalc because too many financial calculators online are either buried behind sign-up walls, loaded with upsells, or produce results you can't verify.

Our goal is simple: provide the most accurate, transparent, and easy-to-use financial calculators on the web — completely free. Every tool runs entirely in your browser, shows its work through interactive charts and detailed breakdowns, and requires zero personal information.

Calculation Methodology

Every calculator on FinCalc uses industry-standard financial formulas. We don't simplify or approximate — our tools apply the same mathematics used by financial professionals:

  • 1Compound Interest Calculator — uses the future value formula with periodic compounding: A = P(1 + r/n)^(nt) + PMT × [((1 + r/n)^(nt) - 1) / (r/n)]. Supports annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly, and daily compounding.
  • 2Mortgage Calculator — standard amortization formula: M = P[r(1+r)^n] / [(1+r)^n - 1]. Generates a complete month-by-month amortization schedule with extra payment support.
  • 3Currency Converter — uses mid-market exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API, aggregated from central banks and commercial sources worldwide. Rates update daily.
  • 4Savings Goal Calculator — future value of an annuity solved for the periodic payment: PMT = (Goal - PV × (1+r)^n) / (((1+r)^n - 1) / r).
  • 5Investment Return Calculator — month-by-month compound growth simulation with separate nominal and inflation-adjusted tracking using real return rates.

Editorial Standards

As a financial information resource, we hold ourselves to strict editorial standards aligned with Google's Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) quality guidelines:

  • Accuracy first — every formula and data point is verified against authoritative financial sources. We use standard mathematical models, not proprietary or simplified approximations.
  • Transparency — we show the formulas behind every calculation. You can verify our math independently.
  • No conflicts of interest — we don't sell financial products, recommend specific investments, or earn referral commissions. Our revenue comes from non-intrusive advertising.
  • Clear disclaimers — every calculator page states that results are estimates for educational purposes and should not replace professional financial advice.
  • Regular updates — we review content and calculations periodically to ensure accuracy with current financial standards and regulations.
  • Source citation — where we reference market data, historical returns, or financial benchmarks, we cite the source (e.g., S&P 500 historical data, Federal Reserve rates).

What We Are Not

We believe in being upfront about our limitations:

  • We are not licensed financial advisors, planners, or brokers.
  • Our tools do not account for taxes, fees, individual risk profiles, or specific financial products.
  • Calculator results are estimates based on simplified models — actual outcomes will vary.
  • We strongly recommend consulting a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions.

Privacy & Security

Your financial data never leaves your browser. All calculations happen client-side — we don't transmit, store, or have access to any numbers you enter. Our site is protected with industry-standard security headers including Content Security Policy, HSTS, and input sanitization on every form field.

Read our full Privacy Policy for details on cookies, analytics, and your data rights.
